To research a route we need the details of the trip. Depending on your search, that can include:

• Search inputs — origin and destination, dates and flexibility, cabin, stopover preferences, and how many travelers are flying.
• Traveler details— passenger counts and the passport or nationality you’re travelling on, which we need to check visa and transit rules for the right passport.
• Payment details for the flat fee— what’s needed to take the one-time per-search fee. We don’t process or store the payment for the flight itself, because we never handle that transaction.
• Basic technical data — the standard information a website receives, such as your device and browser type, so the service works and stays secure.

We use your search details for one primary purpose: to generate your report— pricing the route, cross-checking the options, checking visa and baggage rules, and producing the purchase links. We also use data to take the per-search fee, to keep the service running and secure, and to answer you if you get in touch. We don’t use your passport or traveler details for anything beyond building the report you asked for.

tripplanner does not sell your personal information, and we don’t trade it or rent it to advertisers. Your search and traveler details are used to do your research — not to be packaged up and sold on.

To do the research, tripplanner queries third-party flight-data and fare-comparison services, and uses standard providers for things like payment processing of the flat fee and hosting. These providers receive only the data they need to do their part, and are expected to handle it securely. We describe them generically on purpose — the important thing for you is what leaves and why, not the brand names of our pipeline.

When you follow a purchase link to book a flight, you leave tripplanner and land on the airline or travel site. What you do and share there is covered by their privacy policy, not ours.
